Very true taste of Turkish food and soup and baklava The Gyros the mercemiççorbà the The wraps the dorum All good 10/10
Food was warm and was very tasty! Definitely recommend. Lamb and beef gyro plate was soo good! Everything was fresh and good.
Really great food! Although I waited ~20 min for my food, the owner cooked fresh rice for me when I placed my order. The best I have ever had. Def coming back!
I don't remember how many times i've been here lol. Whenever I was too lazy to prepare lunch for myself, I usually bought gyro in this place and then went back to my lab/class. The price is affordable for Berkeley Standard (i remember it was around 12 usd before tax). This place was also in UC berkeley north gate before, so it was close to my building. Then the one in north gate was closed. However I didn't mind to go back and forth from my lab to this place in southgate, my lazy ass didn't mind to go downhill then uphill lol. And yeah, this place also offers halal food, so that's a plus
The food is really authentic and fresh. The service is great. The family who owns the business is super approachable and hard working. I love sitting in the little shop top. Today, I got the beef/lamb plate, baklava and a drink 😋. I will happily give them an hour of my labour every day.
Best gyro around! The lamb and beef plate is so good, the wraps are also amazing, the staff is so nice, the portions are more than enough and the prices are very reasonable. This restaurant has become my go to place
It's by Gypsy's and Kingpin Donuts, as Google Maps kinda hides this gem. Hella good Mediterranean late spot in the Berkeley 'ghetto'! Made quick, but it ain't fast food, with the meat cooked proper, the right proportion of veggies, hummus, falafel, and sauce. The right amount of spice, both herbal and hot, the amount to where I taste everything without being hot bombed. How I did this order was getting a veggie wrap, added lamb and white sauce, so that's cucumber, lettuce, tomato, onion, herbs, falafel, hummus, tahini, peppers, feta in a wrap It's the right move too. Made with that authentic Middle East love and care. This and Gypsy's are my favorite spots in Durant Ave ghetto, which is the best spot for late food in the Bay.
My family gave this place 10 out of 10 stars! It is our favorite place in Berkley. The owner is so sweet and kind. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu! The quality and quantity are unbelievable. He was actually from Kurdish! Right on the top of the high mountain just like the painting in his restaurant. His salad is sooo good. I personally enjoy Adada (minced lamb with many herbs and vegetables in it.) It comes with rice, bread, salad, hummus, and yogurt sauce. My husband loves beef and lamb gyros. Do make sure you ask for his spicy sauce. You won't find this special homemade spicy sauce like this anywhere else! I just can't brag enough about this place!
